We had a very nice turnout for football training today, the management sent a text out saying this was the last training session before our friendlies start and we had around 30 players turn up and the management took full advantage of this to put us through a grueling training session, only trouble was it was 80 degrees in the shade and some of us unfit players almost died!
As much as it almost killed me I managed to finish the session, which is more than can be said for some of the players who are nearly 20 years my junior, while I was dragging my arse around the courses the coaches had set up some of the young lads nipped off to have a cigarette before halfheartedly trying to finish the course. I might be shit with the ball, but at least I still put these youngsters to shame with my workrate.
The journey home was a bloody painful one, if I had the money I might have thought about booking myself in for a nice relaxing deep tissue massage as every part of me ached, I was aching in places I’d forgotten I had any feeling in!
When I got home I just about made it to my bed before I fell asleep for a couple of hours before getting changed to go out with Reiss for a couple of beers, he wanted to head up North London, but I didn’t think my body would make it back so we had a few in The Approach around the corner. When they kicked us out we went back to his place and sat in the kitchen drinking more beer and singing songs as softly as we could so we didn’t wake his missus up who is Scouse and very scary!
I am running the 2018 London Marathon to raise money for Livability UK in memory of my dad. If you can I'd appreciate any donation you can spare. http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/deansaliba
