I was supposed to go for a kickabout today with Bow Badger, the Sunday team I played for last season, but remembering that LoveBox would be playing right next to the football pitches I decided to give it as a miss as I predicted that all he pitches would be invaded by cheap bastards picnicking and trying to listen to the acts for free just like they did last year, and the year before.
So I decided to take advantage of the situation and have a well deserved and very rare lie-in. My dad was going out on his scooter with my sister so all I would have to do for the rest of the day was lay in bed watching countless silly videos of dogs and little children wearing toddler tuxedos at wedding.
I stumbled out of my bed about 4pm to discover my dad sitting in his chair with a face like a smacked arse, it turns out my sister had cancelled coming round to take him out as her daughter had broken her leg so he was sitting there waiting for me to get up to take him. How was I supposed to know this? I’m no minder reader.
His mood was made worse by the fact that there was no signal coming through for the Sky or the Freeview on the TV in the front room, I don’t blame him getting the hump, I’d get the hump if I had to sit there for 10+ hours with nothing to do apart from stare at a turned-off TV, but to blame me for breaking it was a bit out of order. My neighbour popped round to ask if our TV was getting a signal, turned out the entire block had no signal due to the Ariel getting knocked in the storms.
I didn’t get an apology.
I am running the 2018 London Marathon to raise money for Livability UK in memory of my dad. If you can I'd appreciate any donation you can spare. http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/deansaliba
